the visit to london with anita quite different from past trips.
meeting anita's friends and staying in olivia's flat created quite a contrast. in the past, i spent my time getting to know places and things. the focus of this trip was a bit smaller in scale: focused on people, neighborhoods and restaurants recommended by people who live there, rather than the history of the british empire the current collections of art at either of the tates or the v & a and trendy eateries i'd researched before leaving from seattle. i enjoy both types of travel but this trip wasn't one i could have planned. the unexpected is nice.

friday: dinner at portalis, then flat mountain girls at connor byrne.

saturday: breakfast at the neighborhood cafe; then much of the balance of the day in bed with my cold.

sunday: prepared brunch for the fellows, out to the driving range, then cooked dinner and soup for the week.

apparently, apple products and i aren't meant to get along.

today's appointment with the genius bar will cover:
1. a replacement for my g4 replacement battery
2. a replacement for the 250 GB HD which has now failed for the third time in 3 months

argh.

can't wait to get my iphone. grrh.
